    Steering into the cut isn’t all that bad, but yeah, you DO have to be very away of where you are in a spatial sense, your point, the wind, etc etc. If you’re pretty confident in handling your boat, it’s not that bad. Just looks like you’re going to crap your pants.

    Something akin to the HOCR race course – totally do-able if you’re confident in your steering abilities. 😉 Though it helps if you’ve done your homework, talked to people that have done the course before and such.

  2. There is a really fun race down the cut in the spring… 5 boats across! It’s the Windemere Cup. The first 1500m of the race is lined by yachts, the last 500m is the cut. Plus thousands of people show up on the shores of the cut and scream at you. It’s awesome! Washington hosts it and invites crews out, you should try to get Cornell invited (again, they came out last year along with Dartmouth).
