Eh, maybe smashing into the booms in that level of epic-ness wouldn’t have happened but judging off of all the questionable steering I saw in the coxed boats (and the fact that the two biggest DQ’s happened in the eights), I’m not confident enough to say that this would never have happened had they had a coxswain. Still though, I’m sure these guys will go back to Cali with a newfound respect for their teammates whose ONLY job it is to steer. 😛
